Why should I participate in the Teaching for Thinking book study?
A: The book study provides the opportunity to collaborate with and learn together with and from other math educators across the country. With a regularly scheduled time to meet and shared content for discussion, the book study will support you in making small changes in your instruction to better support student learning. Teaching for Thinking and the strategies and routines described in the book are designed to foster mathematical teaching practices through routines that position students to reason mathematically and engage in mathematical practices.

Q: Is there work between sessions?
A: Yes. In between meetings, participants will read specific chapters, reflect on ideas, and apply what you have learned from the book study to your own contexts.

Q: What if I can’t make all of the meetings?
A: Feel free to participate in as many meetings as you can and watch the recordings for those when your schedule doesn’t allow participation.

Q: Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
A: Absolutely!

Q: How do I get the book?
A: Teaching for Thinking is available from the book’s publisher, Heinemann with 30% discount code, PROFBKS30E, or other booksellers.

Q: Who should I contact if I have more questions?
A: Reach out to [email protected] with any questions regarding the book study. Reach out to TEC for questions regarding enrollment, POs, or payment.
