In this 90-minute webinar, we will share our current thinking on how to leverage reasoning routines to assess and advance underdeveloped math concepts from the previous year. We used this task for the third exposure to the routine for Recognizing Repetition. All three were done in a period of just over 2 weeks, so by this point, the meta-language and the practice itself had become more routine and familiar. I gave students the option of using tiles, as well as graph or blank white paper. Some students used the tiles, but most seemed comfortable creating a graphic representation. The meta-reflection at the end was the smoothest of the 3 exposures.
